Bolivian gun laws to provide hard lesson in ‘if it’s not broke don’t fix it’

The smart money says this is a cynical ruse, and that imposing the new controls will benefit those in a position to create and capitalize on a lucrative new black market -- that is, those in power. [More]
Today’s Gun Rights Examiner report notes a solution in search of a problem, and concludes it’s more like an opportunity of untapped potential for those positioned to exploit it.  Hey, “progressives” just dislike wealth if someone other than them has it.

The Perfect Rapex Accessory

Why limit your barbs to internal privacy violators? [More]

While I think a better idea is to stay the hell away from public transit and not live anywhere that you can't -- face it, all those places are "progressive" anti-gun zones anyway -- if I ever were on a crowded bus and somebody poked me with that stupid porcupine vest, they'd better hope it didn't hurt me.

Bear sent this to me, along with his discovery of the word "chindōgu," roughly meaning whatever usefulness a stupid gadget may have is rendered useless by how dumb and impractical it is.  I wonder if we can apply that to NRA-endorsed "pro-gun Democrats," maybe start calling 'em Manchindōgu...

My discussion with Kate Krueger is now archived. [Listen]

Fear Factor

I know my initial reaction when seeing them is rarely one of relief... [More]

That's actually the desired conditioned reflex engineered by those who deploy them.

Oh, but this could never happen here. We're special!  [More]

Back in Court

Opponents of the ad’s removal say the case, which attorneys will argue in the Arizona Court of Appeals starting Tuesday, could have broad implications for free-speech rights in Arizona and stop the city from arbitrarily censoring public-transit ads. [More]

We talked about this some time back.

Look at some of the comments under the new article -- what ugly people.

Still Part of the Team

I guess MAIG and SPLC don't have a problem with racists as long as they're gun collectivists, because Cracker-hatin' Gordo's name is still on the roster.

Knowing the Drill?

Not to play Monday Morning Quarterback or anything, and I'm glad it's worked out for them -- for now -- but I see a lot of risks here I would not have been inclined to take -- especially with my wife and child in the house. [More]

We're the Only Ones Denied Enough

Welcome to the party, pal. [More]

Gee, imagine you being presumed guilty until proven innocent.

Say, I've got a swell idea! How about I come up to Siskiyou County and reveal to you I'm keeping and bearing arms consistent with founding intent but non-compliant with California edicts?  Being as how you're such a big gun rights advocate now that it's your ox being gored, I'm sure we'll both shake hands and have a big laugh about it, right?

Heck, I'm sure I won't even have to remind you about your oath or the words "shall not be infringed," right?
