Yes. Every time I hear a politician talking gun control, I want to ask him or her, "Why? What have you done, are you doing, or are you planning to do that will make law-abiding citizens want to shoot you?" That's the motivation, I am convinced, since the non-law-abiding don't care about the law that forbids shooting people or the one that forbids the gun.
