Convenience stores long ago gave up trying to stop robberies. Which is sad, because 7-11 in the late 1960's commissioned a study, with input by imprisoned robbers, and came up with the store features that deter robberies: large windows, unblocked by advertising signs; central cashier's island, easily visible from outside; well-lit parking lot, to deter robbers hiding in dark corners; shelves no higher than 4' so as to maximize visibility; height markers at the doors (this is still usually done). All of these taken together resulted in a dramatic reduction of robberies at 7-11 stores nationwide. Sadly, convenience stores no longer give a shit about the welfare of their employees or customers.

Nope. All they care about is liability. Their lawyers and bean counters only care about what it will cost them if they are sued by someone like a robber that sprung a leak because of their bad behavior.
It's the same way with the major name pizza places. They don't care if a delivery driver is robbed and murdered, just as long as they don't hurt anyone in the process.
Vermont has Constitutional Carry, yet this armed robber carried a knife to threaten the store clerk's life. Why? Some reasons that are not mutually exclusive are:
1.) He is under 21 years of age. 2.) He is a convicted felon. 3.) He is a adjudicated mental defective or suffers from mental illness. 4.) He is a known abuser of illegal drugs or alcohol. 5.) He is a domestic abuser. 6.) He is too lazy, stupid or cheap to buy or steal a gun regardless of whether options 1 through 5 are true.
