I don't like anything about the way the Cochran race was run, but a freelancer paying a source tells me some corroboration is in order.

    Cochran has to realize that the main reason Democrats would go to this much trouble to win the Republican runoff for him is that they figure he's going to be a lot easier for the Dems to beat in November than McDaniel. So he's either:
    - an idiot
    - blindly and irrationally anti-"TEA party"

    or - he has a lot more dirty tricks planned for the general election.

    Of course, one should not discount the strong possibility of all three.
