So Much for that "National Conversation on Guns"

A new book scheduled for release next week reportedly says that the Obama administration preferred “politics over policy” when it “ignored a willingness by the gun lobby to help in the fight against illegal guns and gun violence”... [More]
"Illegal guns" is insulting and degrading. I insist on "undocumented firearms," which is an honorable term and a practice I wholly endorse.

I was privy to some private telephone discussions after Newtown along and some industry reps, "friendly" media types, and "lobby" folks, who felt we HAD to come up with SOMETHING for the politicians to give away. A few of us hardliners made it known in no uncertain terms that we would not cede an inch, nor allow them to get away with any more of their trademark "compromises."

That danger hasn't passed, by the way.  There are still some "leaders' who think the best way to dissuade circling jackals is to throw them a scrap of flesh, and the best way to protect their piece of turf is to throw someone else under the bus.

My position has not changed. Feel free to join me:
WE WON’T STAND FOR SCAPEGOATING
NO NEW GUN LAWS
DENY SUCCESS TO MASS MURDERERS BY ABOLISHING PHONY ‘GUN-FREE’ VICTIM / KILLER ENABLING ZONES NOW
WORK WITH US OR WE WILL WORK TO RETIRE YOU
Or not, in which case, get in line...and be prepared to come and get' em yourself.
