NRA’s ‘A-’ grade for Begich in Alaska Senate race endangers GOP takeover

To have any meaning at all, Begich’s vote for Sotomayor should have dropped his rating by a full letter grade, and I would argue for more than that. But compounding the effects of his betrayal with a vote for Kagan should have resulted in an example that all would have taken notice of. Degrading him to an “A-” after that is a transparently insincere joke. With that party über alles move, and by adding potentially mortal insult to critical injury, he should have been given an “F” for life. [More]
Today's Gun Rights Examiner report notes the game-playing for motives unknown continues.

  1. I agree with you; this is terrible.

Say, have you asked Cox, or is he hiding in his little foxhole?

  2. I have to note the irony (if not hypocrisy) every time I read in the American Rifleman magazine about how NRA members need to mobilize to oust Harry Reid in order to end Obama's anti-gun agenda.

If I could, I'd slap Wayne LaPierre and Chris Cox about the head and shoulders with the issue covering the 2010 election, and perhaps impolitely remind them that they supported and endorsed Reid versus his opponent, Sharron Angle, who in addition to being a non-Democrat scored higher on the political questionaire and had a higher grade (Angle's 'A' versus Reid's then-'A-', IIRC).

They were warned then, too. It's pretty damn rich hearing them whine about ousting a "true champion of the Second Amendment", whom they endorsed.

  3. Actually, they did not endorse Reid. They pulled the same crap they're pulling in Alaska, of making no endorsement, despite Sharron Angle earning an "A" and Reid only getting a "B"-- and they also pulled the same crap of no impact for Reid's Sotomayor/Kagan support. Oh, and they weren't done playing games, because you're right about support-- they also gave Reid campaign funds--don't have time to look for a link right now.
