They are instead portrayed as criminals, much like the “vigilantes” with “illegal guns” in Nigeria, who did to Boko Haram terrorists what the government could (would?) not. Much like the way anti-gun “progressives” in this country intentionally conflate the term to disparage those who would defend themselves from criminal attacks... Mexico arrests armed citizens for defending themselves against murderous cartels
Harry's Fudd Fake-Out
At the core of their slimy scheme is a do-nothing bill being pushed as the Sportsmen’s Act (S. 2363).[More]So it makes some antis look like they have something to offer -- meanwhile, genuine reforms are blocked.
We're the Only Ones S-M-R-T Enough
When the man asks why he is being arrested, the officer replies, “you are being stupid.” [More]
The Sign of Happy Motoring
Effective today, July 1, carry in a vehicle of a loaded defensive firearm without a permit is the law in Tennessee. [More]Liston Matthews has the details.
On Target
While we continue to follow local laws regarding "open carry" policies, we also respectfully request that guests not bring firearms to Target, even in communities where it’s permitted. [More]That first part is all that should matter to us. For a company that never wanted this distraction in their stores and were forced to walk a tightrope, what more do "we" demand from them?
This is no victory for the antis. If they tell people it is, they're liars, which should not come as a big news flash.
If someone doesn't want to fight and is leaving you alone, don't back him into a corner. If you do, expect him to react in his interests, not yours.
If you still don't like it, you don't have to shop there. Me, in the absence of belligerent aggression that invites further observations, I'm moving on.
UPDATE: Well, I thought I was moving on, but do want to chime in one more time to present Workman/s take. Since posting this, I've seen some gunner indignation from groups and individuals along with pledges to boycott Target -- as I said, if that's your pleasure, do what you think best. As far as organizing action to communicate with management, I don't see the effort it would take to nudge an already forced corporate position being worth it, especially with so many other more dangerous priorities to focus energy on.

You Don't Say
Rather than simply extending its current information collection, ATF’s request would have vastly expanded the scope of the information that it requires. If finalized, all FFLs -- not just the ones in the border states -- would be required to report all sales of multiple rifles within five consecutive business days. Those reports would be required regardless of whether the sales were to one buyer or multiple buyers. Except for a smattering of small FFLs, this new reporting requirement would mean that all FFLs in the nation could be required to report to the ATF virtually all their rifle sales. [More]No kidding?
Do We Really Need to Ask?
Of course it is. [More]
Putting the blame on guns is a symptom of the epidemic of evil that has infected government to the point or near total saturation, and the epidemic of dependency that allows the contagion to thrive and spread.
Prozis want public health models? Two can play that game.

Am I the Only One Who Thinks This is Kind of Cool?
I'm envisioning "Harry Potter"-style newspapers with moving images (and no, I'm not interested in hosting that debate here). And who knows what else? [More]
Yeah, sure, this could be abused (most likely by government to spy on us), but so could anything. If that's a reason to deny the benefits to people who would use and enjoy it responsibly, well, we might as well have "gun control," too.
Hell, if you just rolled Forbes Magazine up or folded up The New York Times, those could be used as potentially lethal weapons.
Mindful of the downside, what stands out most for me here is this:
If not, did that require any authorization and documentation, and does every bit of it in inventory need to be accounted for, or is it available for elites to use on a whim, with no oversight?

I just set a small hare of C4 on my Forbes Magazine and destroyed it.I'm a bit out of my depth here, as I have no experience with explosives and don't even know what a "hare" is, but really? Is he joking?

Funny How That Works
For 18 months, Stanchfield, a former Navy SEAL/security expert, coordinated 24-hour security for Carlson, teaching the actress to be proficient with both firearms and knives. [More]Funny, how many "stars" are against people of lesser means in their fan base, who can't afford to do that or hire bodyguards, from providing those services to themselves.
Welcome to Camp Obama
The sources say security forces called themselves the “Brown Shirts.” [More]Coming soon, to a location near you.
This Day in History: July 2
Colonel Reid has informed me of the ill Condition of Fort Plain and of the Magazine at that Place. As it is of the greatest Importance that they should be repaired, I might request you to make every possible Exertion to supply the necessary Materials. [More]
