I would like to point out that "Mythbusters" did this years ago....and nearly got in trouble for it.
This was also do on "Sons of Guns" with 12 gauge Saiga shotguns....
What this poor soul does not understand is that even though his "device" is loaded with cap pistols because it "can" mount the real deal the "Device" rube goldberg that it is;
Is a machinegun by it's self under the NFA definition and subject to 10 years in prison, and a 1/4 million dollar fine.
I find that surprising. I would have thought each mounted gun would be a separate and distinct firearm, and each firing would have been accomplished by "a single function of the trigger" as it revolves into position again. I'd appreciate clarification on this along with a cite.
"Any part designed and intended to convert a weapon into a machine gun"
"A combination of parts designed and intended to convert a weapon into a a machine gun"
So yes, under the NFA the contraption sans any other (installed) firearms is a "Machinegun" under the current definition...The video documents the case for DOJ unfortunately.
I believe the gentleman in question isn't worried about a visit because I don't think the boys at the ATFEIEIO have any jurisdiction over a guy living in Upper Franconia Germany.

ReplyDeleteHeh! Looks like a reworking of the Gatling Gun!
ReplyDeletegood point about each revolver being a separate and distinct firearm, but you know how the BATFEces likes to change the rules to ban more guns.
The NFA 26 U.S.C. Section 5845(b)
