A bill to repeal the requirement for background checks on firearm transfers between private individuals and the fees levied to carry out the background checks passed the Senate Judiciary Committee today on a 3-2 vote. [More]I'll bet these guys are going to be relieved. My sources tell me they've basically been shut down, frozen in fear over the prospect of running afoul of a "gun law."

UPDATE: I am told "All the house bills died in committee along partisan lines, 6 -5. These are the repeal of the mag ban, repeal of the 'universal' background check and extending self-defense rights to one’s business."
