"It's Complete Bull****"

Mike reports on NRA's Chris Cox "categorical denial," caught on video. [More]

As an aside, in the further corroboration department, I pulled a reference to the "pistol grip shotgun-like firearms" before my last GUNS piece went to publication because another credible industry source -- completely unrelated to the other sources and unaware of these developments before I raised them -- was told by the major manufacturer that their attorney had advised no sales without ATF paperwork.  That was corroborated by yet another industry source who told us his calls for supplies have not been returned since late March.

Sorry to be so intentionally obscure with identifying details, but the way this works is you don't go outing confidential sources and expect to have any kind of future relationship. Those who have insights into this piece of the puzzle will see that it fits and have a pretty good idea of who some of the players I am referring to are -- and those who do not, well, stay tuned, we're working on it.

The bottom line is, you don't just take some anonymous stranger's word for things and run with it. And you put all kinds of considerations into the front end -- especially over motives and credibility of multiple sources -- before you post word one.

That's why Mike put "WE STAND BY OUR STORY" in all caps.

  1. So basically you're saying trust me it's true but you're not willing or able to produce anyone's name or any other proof.

This story is what it appears to be, a lie.

  2. No dummy. He's saying he's not going to throw any of his sources to the wolves so they can be ripped apart and have their lives and businesses destroyed.

Take a look at Jay Dobyns and some of the other whistle blowers who CHOSE to come forward and talk about what they knew. The powers that be who had adamantly denied the elements of the scandal have conspired to destroy them at every opportunity. LaPierre makes about a million dollars a year. Cox is probably very well compensated as well. That alone is more than enough reason to lie like hell if they got caught playing Judas goat don't you think?

By the way, your post sounds like just another F.U.D. propaganda bot run for the government or the NRA. Which is it?

  3. Further corroboration with more unfounded, unsubstantiated baloney? Cox stared that marxist welfare leech right in his eyes and called his bullshit what it is, so either put up or shut up- your made up fantasy 'sources' aren't convincing anyone.
I'm trying to figure out which one of you is George Noory and which one is Art Bell. Just a couple of unimportant conspiracy theory nutjobs looking for attention.

  4. Was Fast and Furious a lie too? Or did that breaking news start exactly the same way?

  5. No, Fast and Furious did not start exactly the same way. It started on cleanuptheatf.org, not on Art Bell's wordpress blog. It then went to Congress. It then went to Cheryl Attkison. At no time did any official involved in F&F ever point his finger in the face of a marxist welfare leach and tell him it was complete bullshit.
    Put up or shut up.

  8. I think you hurt his feelings, Len.

  9. He responded, but just to insult you Len--anonymously. So the hell with the obnoxious little troll, I've put up with all I intend to and owe him nothing, so he is out of here until he emails me and positively IDs himself.

  10. Nice job David. Both on the reporting and the way you handled this troll. Actually, you were much more accommodating than I would have been. Keep up the good work!

  11. Well, there's sure no doubt the NRA threw us WA State gun owners under the bus on 594. A banner in the Rifleman hardly counts as meaningful support. Thanks a lot Wayne.
