Two Connecticut cops were hanging out together off-duty when suddenly, they feared for their lives, drew their firearms and hosed down a suspicious car in their driveway. Too bad the car was empty. And belonged to one of the officers. [More]Aren't you glad highly-trained and trusted "Only Ones" are empowered to arrest you for "gun violations"?

"hosed down"?
ReplyDeleteYou mean, with those "semi-automatic bullet hoses" that We the People aren't allowed to have because they're too dangerous, but "Only Ones" are allowed/encouraged/required to have, because "Only Ones" and "trained" and "responsible" and stuff?
I'd hate to think what I might have done in that situation! Why, I might have said, "Hey, that looks like my car," and gone over, made sure it was, in fact, my car, and then made sure it was closed and locked, and walked away. I wouldn't have even drawn a weapon, but then again, I'm not nearly as "responsible" as those two "peace officers"! [/sarcasm]
For those that don't know the area, Darien, CT is a highly affluent town on Long Island Sound. It's one of those communities that attract Hollywood types for fancy homes just outside New York but easily accessible to the City. I can only imagine what the neighbors were thinking...and the photo of these two "guardians" of Law and Order is priceless. I'm thinking a collective IQ of about 90.
ReplyDeleteAt least they got home safely. Wait - does it count that they were already at home when the car frightened the crap out of them, making them fear for their lives, resulting in them defending themselves against the offending car?
