Bob Owens speculates on the potential consequences of gun-grabber wishes coming true. [More]
Vanderboegh takes strong exception.
Not having a crystal ball, we're left with possibilities and probabilities, with wild cards, and with an observation by Robert Burns.
Me, I worry about what the Russians and the Chinese are going to be doing while all this goes down, if anything.
Bob seems to believe that people who put on a uniform and follow orders are suddenly going to grow a pair and do what's right instead. In spite of the lessons of history. Just because you love and worship the viper doesn't mean it's not a viper. Government employees have one nature: anti-liberty bigotry. It expresses differently in different individuals, but if they actually respected Rightful Liberty they would never have joined up with the enemy.
ReplyDeleteI hope Bob never gets the opportunity to be disappointed in his misplaced faith.
That photo of Spock does remind me of the old joke about the Saudi royal family member and Gene Roddenberry. The Saudi told Gene how much his son loved to watch Star Trek, but was unhappy that there were never any muslims on the show. He wanted to know why not?
ReplyDeleteRoddenberry answered, "That's because it takes place in the future."
Frankly, I think a lot of the military will comply with their orders if it means feeding the wife and family. Same with the few cops (I'm a former peace officer, San Diego PD and CHP) who still actually "protect and serve". I resigned in 1995, when I saw how the LE agencies were hiring and training _law enforcement_ officers instead of peace officers. I had no desire to work with all of those shaved heads, fingerless gloves, and dark sun glasses, and it has only gotten worse since then.
Yes, some black thugs have been shot, but I agree that most of them deserved what they got. Still, too many pets and people shot for no reason other than "because I know I can get away with it." And they do.
