Subject: SAFE Act Enforcement
Per a 12/08/15 post on AR15.com:
The New York State Police have launched an investigation into alleged SAFE Act violations and appear to have possession or copies of 4473s showing who purchased firearms. Consider speaking with a lawyer if contacted. No related information appears on your NYSP News page. Similarly, NYSP social media sites including Facebook and Twitter are silent on this.
Will you issue a statement confirming or clarifying/denying the posted information?

PROOF OF DELIVERY UPDATE:
I do not see a messaging function on their Facebook page.
Second UPDATE: I see all kinds of assumptions being drawn about this-- please keep in mind it is an INQUIRY about a FORUM POST. The best thing people concreted about the potential of this can do right now is to join me in asking them about this.
From what I saw at Sipsey Street Iregulars, David, the first three boxes (soap, ballot, and jury) have failed the citizens of New York. Now what, for them?
ReplyDeleteI don't understand how the could have possession of 4473's or copies. It is against federal law for any agency to make copies of 4473's. Even when I've had ATF agents look at mine, they only took notes. It sounds to me like someone is violating the law.
ReplyDeleteThis dates back to 9/30/15. whatever was gonna happen probably already has.

Robert Fowler, back during the Clinton years, a close friend of mine walked into a N.C. gun shop and saw ATF agents at work busily copying 4473s on a photocopier they brought in for the purpose. It may be illegal, but as in so many other matters the Feds need not obey their own laws, though they expect us to do so.
