‘Taken 3’ won’t succeed without gun owner patronage

Neeson’s anti-gun sympathies are hardly surprising, this column noted when his last movie, “A Walk Among the Tombstones” was released. The arming of Jews was omitted from “Schindler’s List,” a movie he won an Oscar for, and as a UN "goodwill ambassador" who rejects the founding principles of a culture he chose to join, he has reportedly been entertaining conversion to Islam. It only stands to reason he approves of French citizen disarmament laws. [More]
Today's Gun Rights Examiner report asks why anyone would knowingly give aid and comfort to a sworn enemy -- and what else would you call someone who voluntarily took the citizenship oath and then launched an unprovoked attack on the Bill of Rights?

We're the Only Ones Corrective Enough

The former state corrections officer who killed himself at a Lakewood gun range Monday was expected to be sentenced this week to three years in prison. [More]
Nice to know the type who will be guarding the new "criminals" Christie is intent on creating.

And this, of course, is the problem of making policy by grief -- you want to sympathize, but then they go and blame/attack everyone and every thing but the person responsible:
"My son went there by himself," his mother said, adding later: "That place should be shut down."
Naturally, there's an "Only Ones" exemption for the "alone" rule.
Still, just to be consistent, I suppose she'd demand the same if he'd hanged himself in her garage...?

No Kidding. You Don't Say.

Children living in unwed-mother homes are more likely to witness domestic violence than children growing up with their married mother and father, says a new analysis. [More]
I'm sure you could break it down even further, but that wouldn't serve the purposes of those who lump everyone together like one big homogeneous pool:
“The presence of a firearm in a domestic violence situation makes it five times more likely that the woman will be killed.”
I guess poor choices about the character of those whom you welcome into your life have nothing to do with it -- it's the gun. If only they would disarm you and me!

Gomer has been moved by this latest news, and would like to break in with a relevant reaction, followed by an observation from special guest commentator, The Duke.

Exclusive: The Devil You Know

That the allegations and the fear of reprisals turned out to be justified is a matter of record. I bring this up because, working with the insiders proved us right then, and lends credence to our concerns now. In spite of all the stupidity, corruption and outright evil, disbanding ATF is not in the interest of gun owners. [More]
My latest GUNS Magazine "Rights Watch column is now online. After seeing it there, I emailed my editor and asked him to change the word "disbanding" to "dispersing," which is what I meant.

As an aside, I wonder how many Fourth Estate Fifth Columnists have beefed up ARMED security in the wake of this.

When the Board of General Officers in Jany last regulated the number of Servants to be allowed to Officers a larger number were allowed to the Cavalry than to the Infantry—this was not considered in establishing the Regulation for the subsistence to be paid to the Officers and in consequence complaints have already been made to me that for this extra number of Servants without Arms they can neither draw provisions or Subsistence...
