Exploding Ghosts

You know what NBC needs to do to really gin up hysteria? Get a Ghost Gunner and strap some incendiaries to it!

Court filing argues post-1986 machine gun ban 'defies Constitution'

As Hollis will not overturn current requirements for owning machine guns, but merely remove the ban on more recently-manufactured firearms, it seems inconceivable for the government to contend that it trusts citizens to own machine guns manufactured before May of 1986, but anything functionally-identical made after that is just too dangerous for “civilians” to possess. [More]
Today's Gun Rights Examiner report notes every argument against overturning the ban refuted with perfect and consistent logic -- meaning any decision aside from the right one may as well just begin and end with "Because I said so."

You Can't Get There from Here?

Mike refuses to cede to that, and is trying mightily, despite having been all groped up with nowhere to go.

He just called me and wanted me to post that he is driving to Atlanta (he says the roads are "passable") to catch a flight to Seattle, and then he will be driving to Spokane.

If all goes without further obstacles, he will be there tomorrow to give his speech as planned.

We're the Only Ones Dealing Enough

“I deal in facts. I deal in science,” said the agent, Matt Fairbanks... [More]
And lazy rabbits are a reason to enhance human suffering, curtail peaceable choices, militarize police, seize assets and destroy lives?

Dude, are you stoned?

You do bring to mind another line about dealing.

We're the Only Ones Paying Our Dues Enough

You know, of course, the antis are drooling at the prospect of the first abuse, and the more exploitable it is, the better they'll like it.

We're the Only Ones Helpful Enough

The internal investigation was opened months ago after officers were accused of assisting drug dealers. [More]
Well, sure. That way, we can make sure associated "gun crime" happens, and that way, we can sound the warning that it would all  be better if only we  could disarm you.

Under the Gun

There’s a saying that news is what happens to an editor on the way to work. [More]

We're the Only Ones Well-Established Enough

Despite the fact that every court to rule on the matter has now determined that there is a First Amendment right to record on-duty police, and that according to the American Civil Liberties Union, Philadelphia police have a history of wrongful arrests in this area, U.S. District Court Judge William H. Yohn Jr. dismissed Loeb’s free-speech claim this year, finding that such a right isn’t yet clearly established in the Third District. (Welcome to the world of qualified immunity, where the police are only required to follow “well-established” laws.) [More]
Yeah, it's not like the Constitution is the supreme law of the land or anything. Besides, everybody knows rights are determined by what local police "customs" allow.

What kind of "high-minded" malcontent would presume otherwise?

By the Numbers

Without offering an opinion on this particular case, about which I'd never heard before just now, the "legal" presumption that one shot is "enough" is something that cannot be allowed to stand, and isn't when "Only Ones" are involved. [More]

Yep, Must Be Getting Close

Otherwise, they wouldn't need to try and convince us there's no problem.  [More]

Besides, who better to assure us about what will happen in the second and third generations than "progressives" at the WaPo, who  are counting on only needing 20 or 30 years anyway?

Curious, how those with voices that could help in stopping that are not only silent, but actively abetting the fundamental transformation. I'll have more on that one later, with a picture that suddenly came into sharper focus.

"Birthright" Citizens

And of course they'll get to vote. [More]

Well, somebody's gotta do something about all those human rights violations going on in this country.

ABC Family Values

‘THE FOSTERS’ AIRS YOUNGEST-EVER GAY KISS BETWEEN TWO 13-YEAR-OLD BOYS [More]
Yes, of course that's the next "progressive" milepost. Does that bother you, you pedophobe, you hater? Give it time and SPLC will be advising DHS on how to profile you in fusion centers and put you on a watch list, with all the prohibitions that implies.

Disney, which owns ABC, sure promotes different ideologies from when I was a kid. Of course, so do most establishment institutions. Churches, for instance. And Republicans. With a little help from their friends. That's because their inner circles have been influenced, if not taken over, by those with an agenda.

And it's all "for the children," of course, since they're next in line to control once the marginalized few who know better are gone.

Still, ABC Family values do draw a line.

Appropriate Legal Principles

The panel held that the district court applied the appropriate legal principles ... [More]
Sure they did. To deny rights.

So what do you do when an edict is clearly tyrannical, and the door to judicial redress has been barred?

Come on, somebody say "Work to change the law." Then explain how that will be possible with this going on and the "pro-gun" groups, with one exception, abetting it.

Travel Security Article: Are You Safe Staying in Hotels? [More]
You may save money at those "We'll leave the seat up for ya" places, but a penny wise may prove to be several pounds foolish, particularly if hookers and parking lot meth deals go along with the cheap room rates.

Why Spokane. Why Now.

Mike outlines some very real fears that worry me too. [More]

Share his post so that it doesn't disappear, in case provocateurs take actions intended to discredit those who will not obey, and to portray them as instigators of violence.

If anyone does instigate, it will not be brave patriots of principle, who share a well-documented philosophy and discipline.

There's a new paradigm, and it scares the hell out of the powers that be. What they fear they hate. And what they hate, they want to destroy.

UPDATE: Mike is now en route.  Have mercy and understanding, and ease up on the emails to him and the comments at SSI until he gets back, and even then give him a day?

A Public/Private Partnership

For a century, the East India Company conquered, subjugated and plundered vast tracts of south Asia. The lessons of its brutal reign have never been more relevant [More]
Corporate predation is only possible with the coercive power of a state behind it -- otherwise, capitalism is voluntary. Plunder is not profit.

A coercive monopoly cannot exist under true freedom. And that includes a monopoly of violence.

Funny, how those who want to ensure that power monopoly is unchallengeable call themselves "progressives"  -- and those who want to tear the system down and replace it with total collectivism blame freedom of economic association and choice rather than the coercive powers restricting those.
