The Jr High I attend for 9th grade had several fights between girl gangs. The porch I crossed to go to home room every day had a large dark stain from an incident which took place a few years before my folks moved into that district. Seems two guys attacked a 3rd with sharpened rat-tail files - virtually disemboweled the poor beggar. They tried sand blasting the stain but apparently the cheap concrete was so porous that too much of the blood and seeped into the concrete by the time the body was removed. The only way the stain could have been removed would have been to demolish the steps and porch entirely (we're talking about 8 steps up to a good 10'x12' porch here) and replace it. The largest school district in San Antonio was too cheap to put out the money so the steps remained. So far as I know those same steps/porch are still in use 50 years later.
