We're the Only Ones Uncompromising Enough

The settlement included an apology by the defendant police officer acknowledging respect for citizens’ First and Second Amendment rights and stating “[it] was not my intention to compromise Mr. Howard’s rights under the Constitution.” [More]
Well I hope you guys in Virginia get better training to keep from killing a citizen than Brady Campaign "principled statesman" and  Ohio AG Mike DeSwine is willing to ensure.

So, he was assaulted with a deadly weapon, battered, kidnapped and/or falsely imprisoned?

What would happen if you or I did this to someone, especially a police officer?

  3. "it was not my intention to compromise Mr. Howard’s rights under the Constitution.”

Bullshit. It was his intention. Otherwise he wouldn't have approached the "suspect" at all.

Cops, generally speaking, are motivated by an attitude which dictates, "Nobody but me and members of my gang can bear arms in public! The compstuhtooshun means what ever I say it means!".

Which belief is followed by the words and actions, "How dare you bear arms in my presence! Get on the ground, subject. Grovel before me so that I may stand on your neck until I feel better!"

As Mike would say, it is auto-delegitimization.
