CCDL members have pointed out since the Governor introduced this bill, it is nothing but a back door method to force the surrender of firearms with no opportunity for a respondent of such an order to be heard prior to any surrender of legal property. The bill would eliminate the standard protection of ‘Due Process’ as affirmed under the 5th and 14th Amendments of the U.S. Constitution. [More]But the evil collectivists behind the scam are counting on the high-sounding purpose implied by the bill's title to impress the ignorant. That, with full amplification by Fourth Estate Fifth Columnist media partners, should be enough to spook the cud-chewers into demanding to surrender rights they won't use by infringing on yours.
That is, it definitely will be enough if you're a Connecticut gun owner and don't do this, which is free, and this, which is a pretty good indicator of how much you'd like to be.
