“The officer was being assaulted and there was no opportunity for him to de-escalate the situation when someone ran across the street and attacked him. He’s a victim, trapped in his vehicle,” one police source said. [More]What do you think a 'police source" would say had it been one of us mundanes with no other way out?

Wondering why the "victim" didn't smoothly accelerate his vehicle away from the scene while the perp was on foot?
ReplyDeleteLikely because the attacker's punches were coming from the vicinity of the driver's seat/steering wheel area. If I had to move over to the passenger seat to get away from a spontaneous attack by a Crooklyn thug, I don't believe that driving away would be an option.
ReplyDeleteI don't think this would have happened if NYC had constitutional carry. Thugs think they own the streets when respectable people have been disarmed by law. That gets thugs killed when they mistake a plainclothes cop for an easy mark.
