“As we face a firearm crisis in America today, it’s time for hunters to stop hiding behind the Second Amendment and claim the moral high ground as our nation’s responsible gun owners,” Heberlein proclaims. He doesn’t seem to consider that it ain’t about hunting, and that some of us aren’t hiding behind it – we’re standing in front of it, “guard[ing] with jealous attention the public liberty,” and ready to “preserve it [with] downright force.” We’re not going to give up the ability to do that. The whole point of being a "responsible gun owner" is to be responsible for defending freedom. Not that I expect some academic wannabe EuroFudd to grok that.
As we face a firearm crisis in America today,"
ReplyDeleteWe don't have a gun crisis. We have less than 9 thousand homicides a year according to the FBI. Out of a population of over 310 million people. And the professor needs to show me the word hunting in the Constitution. I can't seem to find it in my copy.
Oh, we still have a right to hunt. The thing to look for is any delegated authority to prohibit it.
ReplyDeleteThe guy is a douchenozzle who never had to work for a living,he's a socialist, and wants to tell people how to live in a country he doesn't live in,wants us to surrender our right to defend ourselves and our familes-and those opposed to the anti-gun crusaders are the nazis?
ReplyDeleteOur right to hunt is under attack as well as our RKBA.
The Fudds who do not comprehend that the anti-gun/citizen disarmament zealots are coming for their $5,000.00 and up double barreled shotguns, their Model 94 Winchester deer rifles, and their custom made bolt action .22-250 varmint rifles if they can just get rid of those scary black rifles first had better wake up real quick.
If they had any brains, they would notice that Wayne Pacelle and the HSUS is sponsoring anti-hunting legislation in many states-and has won quite a few.
Hunting with hounds got banned in Ca,and was and is on the ballot in Maine.
Then there's the Center for Biological Diversity trying to get all lead ammo banned for hunting-and all other uses.
Bloomberg is probably going to get involved in anti-hunting crusading as a way to speed his anti-gun efforts.
Most hunters I know understand the threat the anti-gun zealots pose-they also realize the NRA sold them out multiple times.
By the way-I hunt, and have hunted since I was 10 years old-hunted for 47 hunting seasons in a row-and I saw through the anti-gun bs back in the 70's,even wrote high school English papers defending our RKBA and right to hunt.
The attacks on both have been going on for longer than that.
