In California, they have a nice name for it. They call it the 'Deferred Maintenance Plan'. With it, the (Democrat) politicians can kick all those projects that the taxpayers have already paid for down the (gravel) road and free up money to pay (Democrat supporting) state retiree pensions (which have unfunded liabilities approaching a trillion bucks).
Meanwhile, the Department of Transportation has 3300 'Transportation Engineers' with nothing to do, yet a half percent sales tax increase is being discussed to fix our poor roads.
So Omaha added / annexed these areas w/their streets, put the streets on the city road log and now expects the citizens domiciled on these streets to pay for paving or ride on dirt. A-fokking-mazing.
