I've discovered I have a hard time convincing people to watch the down-ticket races, as well as the train wreck that is "Trump vs. Hillary".
Both candidates could potentially upset the balance of the Supreme Court, but what so many forget is that they get NOTHING without the approval of the Senate, which if you value potential SCOTUS picks makes the Senatorial races every bit as important as the Presidential race. If you value more responsible federal spending, then the House races are important. If you value justice and CCW reciprocity agreements, in most states you need to watch States' Attorney General (or equivalent title) races.
If you value your individual rights -- AT ALL -- you need to be watching all levels, including city/county/state levels.
But everyone is too busy staring at "Trump vs. Hillary."
