I did some research a couple of years back on so-called "suitcase nukes". The term "suitcase nuke" is something of a misnomer. No nuclear device is likely to ever literally fit into a suitcase. However, they ARE small enough and light enough to fit into the rear seat area of a Cessna 172 and still have room for and sufficient payload capacity fir a pilot and full fuel load. Since the pilot would only be flying one way, even a 172 would have more than a couple of hundred miles range. One could learn to fly and navigate well enough to accomplish the mission using M$ Flight simulator and a couple of $hundred in basic - hobbyist quality - simulator hardware available multiple places on line. The "mission" would be simple. Take off, fly direct to a spot roughly over the center of a city, and detonate the device @ around 5,000 ft. Hand held GPS can easily be programmed to point towards a pre-determined detonation point - PLUS provide constant updates of distance to target.
Unpossible! According to President Obama and Sec. of State John Kerry, air conditioners are the most eminent threat to civilization and life on Earth.
