Democracy is just mob rule writ lay a rge (I wrote that in another response elsewhere and I do not believe the GenX and millenials know what "writ large" means). A true democracy would be controlled by a few demagogues. It would truly be a chaotic state in which to live.
In 1992 Bill Clinton won the electoral college majority despite having won only 43% of the popular vote. In 1996, he won again with 49.1% of the popular vote. In both cases, the majority of the American electorate did not wish to see him in office.
How very odd it seems to me that this sort of result is only an issue when a Republican wins (even though I'll stipulate that there's little real difference between the parties these days).

ReplyDeleteYes, E.J. Dionne is extremely consistent. He's a pro-abortion devout Catholic. Kinda like consistently insane Nancy Pelosi.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could be there when these deluded souls meet St. Peter at the Pearly Gates. Should be interesting.
Have you heard this clown speak? He is so effeminate I thought it was a female when I heard him trying to ban guns on npr years ago.
