ReplyDeleteI understand your mixed feelings, but you must admit they're proactive, and OC spray, baton, taser, etc are certainly better than no self-defense measures.
I admit that they CAN be.
ReplyDeleteHubert, those things can help but you have to understand their limitations. For instance, OC spray is only effective in stopping an attacker approx. 80% of the time. Batons are useless unless you know how to use one AND practice.
ReplyDeleteDavid's remark about tthe device that does protection best reminded me of the old adage, "God made men. Sam Cold made 'em equal." With her cute little Sig .380 auto, my 60+ year old wife is the equal of a "gentle giant" like that asshole whose death got things going in Ferguson.
