What he really meant:

Mr. Jones has the utmost respect for law-enforcement and the difficulties police encounter on a daily basis. 

Throw in a "Gosh" or "Golly," and I'm sold.

I wish this guy was white, because in today's climate, I can't use this entirely appropriate graphic without being accused of racism.  And we all know how anything politically incorrect paralyzes me.
