The plea for help?
Looks like some won't be inclined.
The lesson here: If you put yourself in that situation -- as a journalist can be required to do if he wants to do his job -- and if you are armed, this outcome is what to expect. And there'll be no shortage from "our side" agreeing with that outcome, some, as we see in comments, pretty unsympathetically and even viciously.
I'm expecting further input there -- if and when that happens, I'll update here with a link.
My take-away: If they're gonna crucify me for simply warning my attackers to cease, I might as well just shoot them. Can you say, "unintended consequences"?
