The method of warfare back when it was written was long lines of troops facing each other across an open field and firing volleys of musket fire at each other. How about the "Swamp Fox" who would shoot from behind trees and have ambushes against the British troops. The Viet Cong sure didn't march across open fields, they used Guerilla War tactics. The days of "Military Style" warfare is long gone. The days of Guerilla War tactics are still used but the latest CRAP is the IED's used by the ragheads over in the sandbox. No telling what sort of situation Americans might be facing in the near future.
