No, if you wish you can link the comment you make to Facebook. I don't even have a Facebook account. I don't do that, but some people do. But you don't go through Facebook to make the comment. Unfortunately, this is a work in progress, so be patient please.
I have dumped Disqus. They now assume the liberty of deleting comments they think are offensive. I've actually had that happen to one commenter. I won't do Disqus ever again. Trying to find a viable replacement is not so easy (that will also notify commenters of reply comments, allow up and down votes and all of the other features Disqus had).

Captain's Journal has gone Facebook for comments -- Never go Facebook for comments.
