St. Patrick's day encourages and perpetuates the idea of whiteness and white culture. It otherizes non-whites and promotes nationalism. [More]
I actually hope it's not a joke because of the alienation potential.

  1. And why don't we have White History Month? Cuz we don't need to force everyone to "recognize" and be "aware" of it because we're more colorblind than other nationalities/color/etc.

  5. What is the difference between St. Patrick's Day and Martin Luther King Day? On St. Patrick's Day, _everyone_ wants to be Irish.

    And you don't even have to be white.
