Culture Wars

When Kim Kardashian tweets out a call for gun control, it reaches 52.3 million followers. The NRA has 444,000 followers. [More]
Yes, a stepped up presence is needed, but I doubt Fairfax stodginess would know how to direct a campaign. And I disagree with the presumptuous rhetoric that "if the NRA doesn’t start figuring out how to increase their reach to match that of Hollywood, then we could find ourselves losing our gun rights."

Hutchison may lose his rights (and based on a self-imposed blindness I've seen before, he very well may), but some of us will not go gentle into that good night. Factor out all Kardashian followers not willing to exert that level of commitment and the odds don't seem so bad.

  1. To quote the Hildabeast, that would require "willful suspension of disbelief" that KK has that many human followers with heartbeats.

  2. Would love to see how many of those followers of Kim are actual voters

  3. When Kim Kardashian is not being a bloated turd, she's not being herself. Of what use is that so-called woman? None whatsoever.

  4. That 52.3 million people would think that anything brainless Kim does or says is interesting speaks some hard truths about our society. But, as another commenter said, many of these followers are likely faked.

  5. So, people who care what KK is up to use Facebook and Twitter, while mature adults, like most NRA members, don't?

  6. I use Facebook and Twitter. How else am I going to promote my work? Establishment media and most readers won't.
