If you do a Google search today, you'll see this "Google Doodle." It commemorates Native American "activist" Richard Oakes with the tribute:
Here's to Richard Oakes, for his unwavering dedication to his community and social justice. His Wikipedia entry was obviously written by an apologist and admirer, no surprise to those who have long questioned that site's lack of objectivity and leftist bent.
Curious though, both Wikipedia and Google celebrate his leadership in the illegal seizure of Alcatraz. Compare that to how "progressives" characterize those involved in the Malheur takeover. I also see nothing in either account about how Oakes and followers "set up an armed toll stop for motorists driving through the Kashia reservation."
I wonder if Mountain View-based Google would support a similar "unwavering dedication to the community and social justice" endeavor by the Ohlone.
