No one sees the irony in that a government-issued permit is required to peaceably assemble for a free speech rally?
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances." - First Amendment, U.S. Constitution
That is right up there with the people that insist that you need to pay a fee to government and jump through hoops to obtain a license to keep and bear arms.
