    I used to live in the area, and shopped in Nitro, WV. The town is named, IIRC, for being the location of the explosives storage for a local coal mine (of which there were many in the area, and there's still some around).

    The town of Nitro has grown rapidly in the past 15 years, as sort of a suburb of nearby Charleston (the capital). No surprise the town has attracted some rogue "only ones".
