Service vs. Servitude

It is absolutely true that Christians are called to serve others, and be hospitable to strangers.  [More]
They're not called on to allow that service and hospitality to be abused, especially to the point where their home is taken over.

And they're certainly not called on to deny others a choice in paying for their "altruism."

  1. Suddenly the Bible is authoritative for people who otherwise hate God and his ethics?

So I guess the Jews should have been more welcoming to the Romans who destroyed the temple in 70 AD and put down the second Jewish revolt in 132-135?

  2. Excellent clarification, David.

    Charity is free will.

    Obedience is servitude.
