Funny thing. That Virginia Ratifying Convention our "progressive" history instructor refers to brought up a point he neglected to mention: They didn't need the Second Amendment to suppress slaves, and some were worried it might interfere with that, as Delegate George Nicholas pointed out in his argument to the contrary:
"No part of this Constitution can show that this power is taken away."That said, we all know the real reason Captain Parker assembled his men on that fateful day was to keep their slaves. Right?
