  1. The march of technological progression cannot be stopped, not lawfully among free men. Those who try to stop it regardless will find themselves in the company of the likes of Theodore Kaczynski.

    There is some alarmism from Shedlock in that it is unlikely that all evidence of an assassin drone will be obliterated, so if/when criminals start using face-recognizing explosive-laden drones, there will be clues to follow.

    Since the flying machine itself is rather simple, much easier to make in anyone's home than a firearm, attempting to use law to ban these devices will be futile and at best annoy yet another swath of the previously law-abiding populace.

    Lastly, there's the consideration that technology has once again tipped the balance of potential power towards the individual. If/when the problems with false positives with the facial recognition systems are resolved, these sorts of tools could make tyrants' deathly fear of small arms in the hands of the little people look like small potatoes.
