Up Close and Personal
Yeah, I've Always Welcomed Quislings
National Rifle Association official Chris Cox on Sunday defended the influential group’s call last week to look into whether a gun device used in the Las Vegas shooting massacre complies with federal law -- arguing the move was not a call for a weapons ban and that gun-rights advocates welcome the effort. [More]Delusional. Which "gun-rights advocates" are you talking to, Chris? Because GOA, several state groups and everyone in my circle sees this as just another Fairfaxian betrayal of principle.
Who's bannin'? We're regulatin'.
Right, Jojo?
Gosh, That's Terrible
Don't know what the causes are, yet, eh...?
Terry Bradshaw, Useful Idiot
If our country stands for anything, folks—it’s freedom. [More]Yeah, but this has nothing to do with that, you dope.
And to Think That I Saw It on Washington Street
A city man was charged with sexually assaulting a 6-year-old girl after her father discovered a stranger in bed with her in the middle of the night... [More]Somebody ought to wash his ... uh ... feet!
Good thing this has nothing to do with that "single issue"!
Another 'Pro-Gun Democrat'
Rep. Tim Ryan is giving the campaign money — $20,000 in all — he’s received from the National Rifle Association to gun control groups. The Niles Democrat, who began his career in Congress with an “A” rating from the NRA, decided to donate his NRA money to Sandy Hook Promise, Americans for Responsible Solutions and Everytown for Gun Safety. [More]How many times does this have to happen before Lairds of Fairfax loyalists admit to themselves the Vulcan chessmaster is playing checkers -- badly?
Not One More Inch
If you have a rep worth giving notice to, do so. You don't need to be from Arizona. [More]

Charlie Rangel flat-out admits it. [More]
Perhaps anyone dumb enough to vote for this ethical degenerate shouldn't be trusted with a gun.

The Lone Gunmen
One of the victims of the Las Vegas shooting has blown the whistle to reveal that he was shot by multiple gunmen during the massacre. [More]Sounds like news, doesn't it? So why is The New York Newsday registered in Macedonia and why does it contain this disclaimer in the footer?
I've been getting all kinds of "conspiracy theories" sent to me on this, including, yes, the one about gun-running for ISIS at the behest of the FBI, and while I agree the official story is being manipulated for reasons yet unknown, I'm not going to embrace alternate "explanations" without proof.
The reason for that is not because I trust "official sources," but because I don't. One powerful way to discredit alternate explanations is to sow seeds of disinformation that can be easily discredited, and to then conflate all such alternative explanations with the tin foil hatters.
The best I can do from this end, since I have no unique sources, is to offer the same process as in Fast and Furious. First I vet any would-be whistleblower, and if enough is there to proceed offer my "I'll go to jail before giving you up" protection, and then scream my head off for political guarantees and a trustworthy louder media voice.
Not So Little White Lies
Fortunately, there is a thing called “data” out there which contains “facts.” [More]Oh no! Not Kryptonite!

We're the Only Ones Doubling Down Enough
A former sheriff’s deputy and Missouri correctional officer who killed his ex-girlfriend and her boyfriend in a child custody dispute has been sentenced to death. [More]I take some degree of solace knowing if he hadn't been caught he'd have been exempt from the proposed bump stock ban.

Regulate or Ban?
When you're an anti, it's the same thing! [More]
Naturally they hide behind a proxy ("Registered On 2016-09-22") and a UPS Store mailbox. Hey, if you want to start a civil war, why take any personal responsibility?
Nothing yet on Guidestar or an Indiana business search... although the two Twitter followers since January 2016 are impressive, which may explain the "generous private [AstroTurf] donation" to make up for the lack of grassroots...

Carrying on a Tradition
We really don't need some guy who sounds like he would be frightened at the sight of a 1911 laying on the table to argue the merits and utility of the Second Amendment. [More]He's just following in the footseps of the founder...
As for the cowardly ivory tower-dweller NR is refuting from The Toilet Paper of Record, he presumes to teach when it doesn't take much to see he doesn't even belong in the classroom without years of prerequisites.
So It's Not About Stopping 'Gun Violence' or Even About 'Commonsense Gun Safety'?
Feinstein: No law would have stopped Las Vegas gunman [More]Some of us already knew that.
Nor, based on real-world results, would any combination of "laws" and bans.
So since even Feinstein admits what she's proposing as a response will have no effect on future attacks, what's her long term motive for wanting to make even more citizens die in the short term?
Anyone...? Bueller...?
