Paper Tiger

Quite the good example of "progressive
common sense gun safety" there.
“Five thousand years ago, if your village had a tiger coming into it every day and was eating people, you wouldn’t do nothing. You would move the village, you would build a fence or you would kill the tiger..."  [More]
Yeah, no sh**, dumb@$$.

This stage prop has a PR reputation for being smart.

I've not seen it.

Your dignity gnaws at them. They want to convince you to submit, but that only happens if you allow it. [More]
Remember that the next time some lightweight who hasn't thought things through -- or some organized rice bowl panhandler who has -- bleats that if such-and-such happens, "we'll lose our Second Amendment rights!"

Would that it were so,

And alas, John & Ken have feet of clay. I used to listen once in a while when still living in SoCal, and when the subject of the Second Amendment came up, they proved themselves to be obnoxious meatheads.  Ken actually made the "You can't fight the government because they have nukes" argument.

As long as the lesson of Las Vegas is deep pockets, here are two considerations:

And of course there is an entire Vegas (and beyond) money machine I believe is exerting pressure on beholden politicos and LEOs to keep a lid on investigation information...

So It's a Choice After All?

A professor at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) recently argued in favor of using art education to help “kids turn out queer.” Complaining that “heteronormativity” is pervasive in school curricula, Adam Greteman suggests that “we can, and perhaps should, help our kids turn out queer” through "queer affirmation" strategies in class. [More]
May I suggest the Sheen Shock and Awe Method?

But why would anyone choose to be that way? That's what the orthodoxy used to preach, and not that long ago, leading to a real "progressive" dilemma: If it were genetic and it could be determined in utero, would they demand outlawing abortions by mothers who did not want to carry the "tissue" to term?

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm late for the NAMBLA meeting...

Chicago ‘Stop the Bleed’ Training an Admission of Failure to Stop the Violence

That’s actually not bad knowledge for everyone to have, along with CPR and other disaster preparedness training we could all benefit from. The issue here is it’s dealing with an effect, not a cause — and placing the blame on “gun violence” means the real issues will be ignored, the cycle will continue, and the right of the people to keep and bear arms will continue to be scapegoated. [More]
This is good to know. What's not good is using it to sway public sentiment against gun ownership.

To Continue with a Theme...

Republican Rep. Scott Taylor (Va.) called the GOP defeat in Virginia’s gubernatorial race a “referendum” on President Trump's administration on Tuesday. [More]
No doubt:

Hey GOA:

What the hell...?

The Media/RINO Alliance

“Even with Sen. Flake announcing his retirement and the whirlwind of media attention around Steve Bannon’s endorsement and visit, Kelli Ward has not seen any improvement in her support,” said Chuck Coughlin, a longtime Republican strategist whose HighGround Public Affairs conducted the independent poll released Tuesday. “The numbers continue to show that Ward is a flawed General Election candidate, and her nomination would likely result in a loss of the seat for Republicans.” [More]
It would seem "Metro reporter" Laurie Roberts is invested in Alinsky Rule 5 attacks on Ward. That and being a gun grab apparatchik.

And speaking of taking the high ground, it would appear that -- if you listen to them -- what Arizonans clamor most for on immigration is "dialogue" and "increased economic development."

All the pollsters were surprised in November, too. Including Highground, which just a few weeks earlier figured showed Hillary in the lead.

The intent, as we can see from the last post, is to continuously bombard those who want their country back with messages of political defeatism. It's no different in principle than the "pragmatic" gun "leaders" saying we have to throw bump stocks under the bus rather than hold the line, repel any who approach, and then advance.

By the same token, if most just say "Screw it" and stay home, the prophecy will come true.  My taxes just went up considerably because the damn fools where I live passed an unneeded (but intensely lobbied for) school bond levy by several hundred votes, while most who were eligible did not lift as finger to stop it and will no doubt be outraged and surprised when they get the bill.

A Self-Fulfilling Prophecy

Republicans suddenly fear disastrous 2018 [More]
Keep ignoring and/or subverting the mandate, and yeah. Keep acting like the Bush wing of the party and disparaging those who want their country back, and yeah.

By the same token, New Jersey, suburban Philadelphia, Virginia that already picked McAwful and then went to Hillary...?

What did  Kim Guadgano offer worth getting a fire in the belly over, exactly...? Ditto Gillespie...? And we're supposed to believe Chester County loss apologist Ryan Costello, that it's because people are "displeased by the tone and style of the administration" as opposed to, oh, I don't know...

The media is making a big deal and putting the spin on this because it's the media, and establishment Republicans would rather see Democrats win and "Trumpism" repudiated because they're establishment Republicans.
