Dole Opposes Concealed Weapons Law .c The Associated Press By RON FOURNIER
WASHINGTON (AP) — Elizabeth Dole, distinguishing herself from front-runner George W. Bush and the rest of the GOP presidential field, said Tuesday that Americans should not be allowed to carry concealed weapons.
``I think police work is hard enough already,’’ she said in a draft of a speech to a gathering of working women…
Bush and Dole already have said they support the federal bans on assault weapons and armor-piercing bullets. Mrs. Dole unveiled those stances in a New Hampshire gathering of presidential hopefuls, drawing a cool reception from activists…

``It’s the right thing to do and I won’t shy away from the tough issues, even if some in my party don't like it,'' Mrs. Dole said Tuesday night…
She also announced her support of a mandatory requirement that guns be sold with child safety locks.
