Ending private sales will be a top priority for Northam.[More]
Between uninspiring GOP "competition," unacknowledged electoral terraforming by "gun rights leaders" and uninvolved-for-the-most-part gun owners, why expect anything else?
Referring to the Governor's plan for more gun control, one poster asked, "Exactly HOW is this supposed to help?"
In response I replied, two ways: 1. It makes it more difficult for law abiding people to get guns; reducing the number of guns to be stolen (or used in a rebellion - something of which no oppressive government is fond.) 2. It makes it easier to prohibit private sales of guns.
The problem with the whole "sensible gun control" approach is one of enFORCEment. You see, all compliance is voluntary. As compliance becomes increasongly onerous, compliance withers away.
