Command Fitness

Passing Combat Endurance Test is no longer required for infantry officers [More]
Why?
To date, only one unnamed female Marine has successfully completed the entire course.
No worries:
But Marine officials at Training Command contend the changes are not an effort to water down standards.
And some military professionals are fully supportive of the U.S. revising physical standards.  And yeah, I get this is propaganda featuring a handful that get fed, but still, a narration line comes to mind.

  1. They did a fine job of ignoring that huge elephant of truth standing in the room. That's called spin, isn't it? Where you twist things to mean something good when everyone knows the truth and that you're just too chickensh*t to say it.

But I guess it would be sexist and offensive to tell the truth, and would cause a lot of butthurt amongst the aggrieved.

  2. I take it "This Kind Of War" is no longer on the military officer's reading lists?

  3. Commissioned officers have LONG cheated on their physical fitness tests. I seldom seen, if ever, officers taking their PT tests up front in front of the men. But somehow their OERs always reflected they met fitness standards if not outright "Superman" status.
