Excellent catch there David. Science is stretching the meaning of an important term to the point it breaks. No longer having clothes I guess they snap back like The Rubberband Man.
When someone says that they can see a flashlight at night from a mile away, they really can not see the flashlight. They can see the effects of light emitted from the flashlight.
Clark Kent could see it. We cannot.
