The numbers I could find on cops in Kentucky are 10 years old, but I will work with them.
There are roughly 4 million citizens in Kentucky (rounded up). In 2008, we had roughly 8000 sworn police officers.(again rounded up)
The numbers I have seen say 40% of Kentucky households have firearms. I think that number is low, but we will use it.
40% of 4 million is 1.6 million. Being very conservative and figuring only 3% of those will fight back, that gives you an army of 48,000 firearms owners. A 6 to 1 advantage over sworn LEOs.
I chortled at the comment that implies the military is prohibited from participating with the door kickers.
