Every time this topic comes up I'm reminded of Bill Maher's interview with Senator Pryor. The files that the judge told Defense Distributed they had to take down are for the most part available from countless places around the web via peer to peer sharing.
The government has placed itself in a literal position of trying to push shit against the tide.
Watching them try and realizing they, 1. Have no idea how ridiculous they look, and 2. are the people who make the decisions that we have to live by are enough to make a grown man cry.
Hey, that’s government SOP. Like the DC “suitable purpose” clause that was found to be absolutely unconstitutional, so they were allowed to continue it unchanged until they could get around to changing it.
