I've said it before, but I don't know if I've said it here: The best defense against school shootings would be a portable sign out front celebrating the state championship victory of the local junior high rifle team--and the culture that would represent.
We don't want guns so we can hunt down Treyvon Martins--we want Treyvon Martins to enroll in the high school militia course as part of becoming valued members of society. (And, yes, to be issued duty rifles upon graduation, in accordance with Congress' Article I, Section 8 power "to organize, arm, and discipline the militia".)
