I'm positive that if you review the policy documents of any of these institutions, you'll see eyewash like the following:
X vigorously supports the rights of all members of the X Community to freely express their views... X also recognizes that the right to free speech and expression is not absolute. It must be balanced against the university’s obligation to the principles of academic freedom and to provide a secure and civil environment where faculty, staff, and students can freely exchange ideas and openly engage in deliberation, debate and learning. Any decision that X might take to regulate speech or expression by members of the X Community, shall be based on X's commitment to foster a safe and civil environment where differing views and opinions are expressed.
And, of course, it's never enforced against official suppression of views with which X disagrees.
When a given course is required for your degree and only activists teach that course, all you can do is hunker down, keep your mouth shut and do what you have to do to get the credits you need. Arguing with a professor - ANY PROFESSOR - is a good way to get an "F" in a course and simultaneously find yourself needing either to transfer to another school or change majors. Either way your GPA is well and truly permanently FUBAR.
