ATF at SHOT
Just follow the helpful floor plan...
Wha...? Where'd they go...?
Why wouldn't they want to talk to people...?

Yes, Let's Be Very Clear
Del. Levine added that “if you vote to [kill] this bill, let’s be very clear what you’re voting for; you’re voting for giving guns to bad guys…a vote to pass this by is a vote to say, ‘we want terrorists to have guns, we want MS-13 to have guns... In Charles' View
In Charles' view, the well-regulated militia phrase of the Second Amendment has been deliberately overlooked by gun advocates because it undermines their main argument for looser gun control rules. [More]In a way he's right. But he cherry picks just as much as they do, and ignores many inconvenient truths.
Some are trying to lead the way to the true interpretation. Which, by the way, bolsters the individual rights argument as being essential.

Turn 'em All In, Mr. and Mrs. Delaware
Delaware bill to ban 'bump stocks' would give owners 120 days to surrender [More]Let's ask Marion what "good, honest Americans" would do.
And on the day the order goes out for guns...?

James Kelly-- what a man!
In re the tragedy the story centers on, not knowing the area we need to defer to those who do to see what safety improvements could be made. I've seen some unmonitored public range areas I would not use (for a variety of reasons), and those who do may soon find if they do not self-regulate, the state may come in and do it for them, up to and including shutting things down.
I've also seen oblivious hikers ignore clear postings, with disaster potential averted only due to the awareness and responsibility of the range user (OK, due to me). I'm not saying that's what happened here. I'm saying let's be careful out there and educate / be protective of those with less experience.

Proof of Claim
Why does asking for it result in so many forum dwellers treating it like an attack? [More]
If a company has ATF approval on a new product, what's the beef with asking them to show it?
This is another reason why I don't hang out on forums.

Going Where They're Appreciated
Firearms manufacturer Weatherby, Inc., is relocating its manufacturing operations and corporate headquarters from California to Sheridan, Wyoming... [More]I'd like to see some other gun companies located in enemy territory follow suit, but I guess it's up to their customers to convince them that's a priority.

Control freaks won't allow those who don't share their ideology to exist, even if they have to travel and seek them out. George Gramlich of the Sangre de Cristo Sentinel passed this along to demonstrate how flak is a pretty good indicator of target proximity.
I have to confess the thought of hooking a fire hose and pump up to a septic tank did cross my mind...
Extreme Risk
Known as S7133/A8976, the bill would establish a system where family members and law enforcement can petition a state court to issue an Extreme Risk Protection Orders or ERPO against an individual. [More]And how is the extreme risk of imposing prior restraints on fundamental rights without due process mitigated once we start recognizing "Only Ones" as "stakeholders"?
And more to the point-- if they know someone is an extreme risk, what the hell are they doing leaving him free to stalk among us, with his target(s) "protected" by no more than a piece of paper?

Head Fakes
That's the sort of fake news source being complained about of late by establishment, mainstream media salaried journalists, those California Democratic US Senator Dianne Feinstein calls "real reporters." Problem is, "real reporters" are the usual fake news sources -- especially regarding contentious issues like firearms. [More]And it's often not just due to incompetence but intent, which is why I've begun using the term DSM (Duranty/Streicher Media) more and more.
We're the Only Ones Pending Enough
Villadares was shot dead by an agent while the FBI were conducting a raid on the home to rescue him. Authorities say he was still bound and gagged when he was fatally shot. It's unclear what led to the gunfire. Garza said the agent who fired the fatal shot is on administrative leave pending an investigation. [More]WarOnGuns Correspondent Dave Licht asks:
Why don’t they update that to “officer is on leave pending exoneration”?

A Pandora's Box
Ex-offenders looking for work or housing in Kansas City would not have to immediately disclose their criminal past, under a “ban the box” ordinance under consideration by the City Council. [More]Hell, as long as the goal is to destroy private enterprise, why not require preferential hiring treatment and then break the "iron ceiling" with advancement discrimination and pay gap lawsuits?
