In order to grow sufficient quantities of vegan delicacies, farmers must kill many, many animals. They kill earthworms, moles, shrews, etc. while plowing fields. They kill other animals to keep them from eating all the plants. They kill many, many insects to prevent crop infestations. If they did not do all of this, there would be considerable food shortages as the rabbits, deer, various birds, grasshoppers, locusts, and other critters consumed large quantities of otherwise marketable crops.
