"Our conclusion in this incident was this was not a result of an act of negligence, carelessness or otherwise reckless behavior," Lafayette Police Chief Patrick Flannelly said at a press conference Friday. "It was accidental." [More]They actually blamed the f***ing dog for the idiot violating Rules 2 through 4.

The law hasn't applied to cops for a very long time. The ONLY positive from this debacle is the victim of Officer Fife's incompetence was another state thug. Too often it's an innocent and usually unarmd citizen. If we actually held LEO to the law before long we wouldn't have many LEO in uniform. Most would be behind bars.
ReplyDeleteSo, what the Chief is saying is that the exhibited incompetence by that team is considered normal and acceptable. I'm guessing that they observed another group doing this ONCE, some time ago, and decided that OJT on house clearing(!) was okay. So much fail...
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure ANYTHING they did was done correctly. I kept thinking that they should have had labels on their backs with "student" or similar, since they strongly reminded me of watching classmates in shoothouses early on.
